About M.E.
Hi, I’m Makeda — a media leader, educator, and budding creative entrepreneur with a passion for storytelling that inspires, educates, and empowers. For twelve years, I’ve led teams in live television, content production, and brand strategy, helping organizations connect with their audiences through meaningful narratives and inclusive experiences.
My journey has taken me from supervising live television production to pioneering edutainment in the beauty industry, and from designing college-level communication courses to mentoring rising talent across disciplines. Whether I’m building curriculum, producing media, or shaping strategy, I bring heart, clarity, and vision to every project.
As a proud single mother to a brilliant first grader, I’m deeply committed to creating a nurturing, opportunity-rich life for my child. That commitment fuels my drive to lead with empathy, innovate with purpose, and make a lasting impact in education and media.
In 2023, I was honored as a Claflin University 40 Under 40 Award recipient — a recognition of my leadership, innovation, and dedication to excellence.
If you’re looking for a strategic storyteller, a curriculum designer, or a collaborator who leads with vision and authenticity — I’d love to connect.

It all begins with an idea.
I create to build spaces where people feel seen, heard, and energized — like the spark after a soul-stirring conversation with a friend that makes you believe you can do anything. My work is guided by belonging, empathy, and intrigue: whether I’m shaping brand strategy or designing learning experiences, I aim to connect people to ideas that feel like home and ignite transformation. I measure impact not just in results, but in the growth, dialogue, and meaningful connections that unfold. At the heart of it all is legacy — showing my child, my community, and my collaborators that you can do what you love, build what didn’t exist, and still leave room for joy.
